What do you get when you combine a touch of R&B, a spoonful of Hip Hop, and a healthy dose of Gospel? Meet The Seal Breakers, a Brooklyn-based band on a mission to entertain, inspire, and educate through music.
Like many legendary artists before him, The Seal Breakers’ founder Craig Williams grew up in the church and was infused with a love for Gospel music as well as a strong sense of purpose at a very early age. But Gospel wasn’t the only genre shaping Craig’s musical palette. “I had a brother who was a DJ. While my parents played Gospel in one part of the house, he was playing Parliament Funkadelic in the other,” Craig fondly remembers. A native of Bed-Stuy at a time when Hip Hop culture was taking prominence, it wouldn’t take long for rap music to also make a powerful impact on the future band leader, an influence which would lead him to produce hit songs for many notable 90’s artists. Still, there was something missing.
