‘Petroleum Pete is a singer-songwriter from South Africa who started his musical career as a lead guitarist in a grunge inspired rock band. Having grown up idolizing the 90’s American grunge acts such as Pearl Jam, Alice and Chains and Soundgarden, this was a logical first step in starting a career as a musician. The guitar quickly became an obsession which led to classical training as a guitarist.
As a songwriter Pete is heavily influenced by the unique approach of artists such as The Goo Goo Dolls and Alter Bridge.
His sound can be described as a melodic and elegant amalgamation of storytelling, acoustic sounds and some electronic experiments for flavor from South Africa’
