Hailing from Alexandria, Louisiana, Afro Sensei has been putting his own idiosyncratic spin on electronic music since the release of his debut EP Bougie Beats in 2014. Sensei followed up that release with 2015’s Bougie Beats: The Remixes and his first LP, 2016’s deep house and garage-influenced After Hours. 2018’s Let The Beat Breathe blended future house and hip hop, inspiring remixes by the likes of NO1, Jam Markz, SIXF5VE and Spooki Beats. A deluxe edition of the EP was released in September 2018.
“The Joy Fantastique” can be described as a soulful house track. The lyrics and the mood are all about the hedonistic side of a relationship, particularly early on when you both think the other person is the greatest thing since cooked food. Check out the music video for “The Joy Fantastique”.
