Here we go again, CRÈME is back boldly pushing boundaries with her unique sound. “YRGM” is the latest single from her EP “BRÜLÉE, a collection of 5 distinct songs. CRÈME who works solo on all aspects of her music, skips around stylistically with a strong dose of pop melody to tie everything together. “YRGM” really grabs you. It’s an effective electro-pop tune with a sparkling hook that worms it’s way into your head and stays there. Some may find “YRGM” reminiscent of Grimes and SOPHIE with it’s expansive approach and sweetly enticing vocals.
“I was thinking of Curt Cobain when I wrote the melody for the chorus of “YRGM” or You Really Get Me. I wanted to deal with minimal (in the verses) against the maximal chorus to create a rollercoaster sort of emotion, inspired by Nirvana. It’s a very personal song for me. I was thinking about being alone and connecting through the ether the way we do now, living in our thoughts on our phones, swiping through life. How amazing it is when you find someone you actually really connect with, that rush of emotion that happens whether it’s “real” love or just a like from a stranger you follow. There’s some euphoria inside if you wanna get in there with me” – CRÈME
