One of Norway’s most outstanding vocalists, and sought after musicians, finally releases more new music while we wait for the album. “Fire” is another remarkable pop song from Rikke Normann. She continues to impress with her songwriting skills in this dark, mesmerising pop track, which kind of sounds like if Lana del Rey and Robyn had a baby. Fire is the 2nd single off the upcoming album “35” scheduled for later this year. “ It is a song about getting back up on the horse when you fall” says Rikke. “ It’s about never giving up when fighting for your beliefs dreams, goals or wishes. If you want to make a change, it takes time and persistence. It’s like the old saying, it takes “blood sweat and tears” for the most of us.
In Rikke’s case she is fighting to show the world that music, art and dance has no age or time limit. It’s ok to be a late bloomer, not finding yourself at once or knowing what you want from the beginning. Trial and error is a part of figuring out who you are, and daring to be different sometimes takes time in a society still not totally open to it. This is what “Fire” is about.
